October’s come early.
Horror mastermind John Carpenter will executive produce a new Halloween movie, Entertainment Weekly reports.
“Thirty-eight years after the original Halloween I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all,” Carpenter said in a statement.
The spooky franchise, about a masked murderer named Michael Myers, kicked off in 1978. Carpenter directed the horror classic, which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis.
The new installment will be produced by Malek Akkad, who also produced numerous other Halloween sequels. His father, Moustapha, produced the original. Miramax and Blumhouse Productions will co-finance development and production. Read more…
