Knock raises .6M to help property managers with scheduling and communication
Knock is raising cash to help grow its scheduling and communication platform for property managers.
The Seattle startup just reeled in $ 1.65 million of a larger $ 2.5 million round from angel investors and its own customers. The funding will be used to build out its technology that facilitates communication between residential property managers and renters — responding to questions, organizing tours, etc.
“Knock is your control center for prospect communications,” reads the company’s website.
Originally called ZipDigs, the 12-person company was co-founded in 2014 by Tom Petry and Demetri Themelis, who previously worked together at UBS Wealth Management. Jay Zeng is the company’s other co-founder.
“Companies like OpenTable and ZocDoc have brought engaging and efficient scheduling solutions to what used to be pen-and-paper industries, and that’s what we’re doing with Knock,” Petry said in a statement. “We’re giving property managers and leasing teams the tools to make renting more consumable and engaging, and our growth is a testament to that.”
Knock’s product can be used with property management software systems like Yardi and Realpage, and also provides back-end analytics data to highlight engagement and internal sales statistics. The company plans to launch an API for developers later this year.
Knock is one of many tech-focused real estate companies in the Seattle area, ranging from giants like Zillow and Redfin to smaller startups like Imprev and Estately.
Total funding for Knock is $ 2.7 million.
